Skipjack Enhances Feature Set through TSYS Processor

Cincinnati, Ohio – November 3, 2008: Skipjack Financial Services is pleased to announce that it has re-certified with TSYS (Total System Services, Inc.), thereby enhancing the feature set that Skipjack can now offer to merchants on the TSYS processing platform. These features include:

Zero Dollar Authorization: this enables merchants to determine whether a credit card is valid for use without impacting the card’s existing credit limit. This is important in situations, such as recurring billing, where validation of the usability of the card is desirable prior to establishing a recurring payment schedule.

Transaction Reversals: this feature allows merchants to “reverse” non-settled credit, debit and PIN debit transactions. This process re-establishes any credit held on the card rather than waiting 7-10 days for the credit to “roll off” of the card, and allows merchants to make transaction adjustments with minimal customer impact.

Soft Descriptor: the Soft Descriptor feature enables merchants to pass purchase-related detail (up to twenty-five characters) with each transaction. This detail is viewable on the cardholder’s credit card statement. Addition of this detail provides valuable information to cardholders, and is an effective tool to reduce chargeback risk.

Balance Inquiry: merchants that take advantage of the Balance Inquiry feature can query the current balance of VISA and MasterCard Prepaid cards. The balance can be displayed in both the card issuer and merchant acquirers’ currencies. This feature is useful for merchants that process large numbers of Prepaid card transactions.

Quasi Cash: Quasi Cash transactions are ones that are directly convertible to cash, such as purchases of gaming chips and money orders. Merchants that process Quasi Cash transactions must send a Quasi Cash “indicator” with these transactions. Skipjack’s recent TSYS re-certification supports this indicator, enabling merchants to process Quasi Cash transactions.

In addition, Skipjack recently completed PIN-based debit certification on TSYS. PIN debit can be used in any retail environment where the increased security value of PIN code entry is required. This capability expands Skipjack’s retail payment processing capabilities, and adds significant value to retailers.
