Skipjack Delivers Retail Payments API To Streamline POS Integration
Cincinnati, Ohio – March 13, 2006: Today, Skipjack Financial Services, Inc. announced the release of its Retail Payment Application Programming Interface (API) to enable developers to build advanced point of sale (POS) applications using Skipjack’s IP-based payment gateway. This API is targeted at developers that want to build state-of-the art Internet-connected POS applications for their customers with broad card type support and advanced features that allow them to differentiate their product offerings.
Skipjack’s Retail Payments API includes a wide range of powerful features, including:
- Support for credit, debit, PIN-based debit and gift/points cards
- Multilingual PIN pad communication and receipt printing
- Add charges option (tip, service charge, shipping)
- Cash back option
- Automatic card type detection
- Robust data field support (multiple optional and user-defined fields)
- Get Transaction Status option to determine transaction status by order number or date
- Ability to automatically reverse debit or credit card transactions in a failure situation
- Receipt formatting utility
- Skipjack-hosted ActiveX component to support the development of web-based POS applications
